"Early Access Release!" by  Kit9 Studio  Well, I'll be damned, end of another course, and the final blogpost that comes with it. Also today is my birthday, so happy birthday to me!  Aside from that, this course was a lot of fun, with a vast variety of assignments that are both team and individual efforts. However, just the last final blogpost, we have some questions to answer again. So without further ado, let's get right on to them. 1. How did you view technology integration in English language teaching before you took this course? Have your thoughts changed? If yes, in what ways? If no, explain why not. In my opinion, technology integration in ELT is an important and inevitable development that clearly needs even more focus than right now, especially in our country. Enhancing language teaching with both regular digital and AI tools, when done right, does wonders for learners and severely increases their learning performance. Thanks to the tasks we were assigned thro...

An Interview with Orwell's Digitalized Soul - AI-Assisted Feedback

"Big brother is watching you 7" by  jeff Coulet  Hello, hello! Coming to you today is our final assignment for this course. For this project, we were asked to use a chatbot from MagicSchool and simulate an interview with a POI of our choice. If you haven’t guessed it yet, I chose George Orwell for my assignment. I asked “him” a variety of questions related to truth, media, language, privacy, and several other important themes that are highly relevant today. Orwell’s ideas continue to resonate in our modern world, especially as we deal with misinformation, surveillance, and censorship in different forms. You can access the report here . You can also access the transcript here .  After completing the first draft of the assignment, I made use of the Writing Feedback tool available in MagicSchool. This tool provided helpful and detailed feedback on my writing, pointing out both strengths and areas for improvement. I found this feedback especially useful when editing my...

Collaborative Writing

Anonymous Super Art depicting the Liberty Day celebrations.  Eagleopolis , October 26, 2184. This Super Blog entry has been approved by the Ministry of Truth.  After a long time, I've finally had the opportunity to work with my peers on an assignment. I'm so used to doing all the work by myself that this felt like a breath of fresh air indeed. Before I proceed, I'd like to thank  Zhubanysh  and  Danagul  for reaching out and helping with this assignment. Truly, nothing brings the collaborative soul of humankind out for display like Managed Democracy does. God bless Liberty!  For this week's assignment, we needed to do a movie review, and we chose to pick a movie from the Pre-First Galactic War Era Media Archives, The Dark Knight . An ancient movie made all the way back in 2008. Although the movie is quite good from a cinematic perspective, the hero, Batman, clearly lacks the strength and the courage to be free as any Democracy-loving free citizen of th...

Why Not "Black Noise"?

Image
What's good gang? As per my assignment for this week, I have prepared a "How-To" video about removing white noise from your voice clips on Audacity. The video can be found here  Last assignment, I created a podcast and suggested that I would recommend my own students to make their own podcasts and recordings for their benefit. So I decided to make something relevant for this assignment. A clear voice negotiates meaning much better. That's why I showed how to remove white noise on Audacity, a free audio recording, editing and encoding software for anyone to use.  Although this assignment was supposed to be completed with 2-3 people, I find it difficult to group up with my fellows as I am a senior and they are second year students (i think?). They already socialized and grouped with each other, so I find it hard to place myself inside a group. Though, I'll admit that I believe I function and perform better on assignment when I'm by myself versus when I am ins...

Theodore Kaczynski , also known as "the Unabomber"  How's it going, fellow citizens of the world? Personally, I could say that I'm in my eco-terrorism phase these days, but that has nothing to with today's post nor the assignment we have on hand. So, I have created a 60-second podcast regarding how would I make the world a better place to live in, similar to the ones that are present in the BBC archives , and that's what we will dwell on in this post. Before that, however, you can access my podcast here .  As usual with the assignments I do, I took the liberty of adding in some "funny elements" to the contents of the podcast. I do realize that these elements may ultimately end up causing me to receive a lower grade, but I am not fond of obeying authority on every aspect completely blind. But that's not why we're here today, so let's talk about the process of creation.  At first, I've experienced difficulty writing the script. Not be...

Informing Informative Information on Informative Infographics! - and cyberbullying, too.

Image
"Second Chances" by Kit9 Studio     Well, well, well... Who would've thought I would be back on writing blogposts again? Yet, here we are. Although I certainly wouldn't enjoy writing a blog about every single assignment I do, it's not so bad when done only every once in a while. Okay, enough dilly-dallying. What we have here today is an infographic about cyberbullying. I'll touch on both of those after showing you my masterpiece . "Understanding Cyberbullying" by Melih Kır     Basically, infographics are visual representations of information, data, or knowledge designed to present complex information quickly and clearly. It combines text, images, and graphics to communicate a message or tell a story effectively. The one you see above is an informational infographic, and you can find the information about the eight other types of infographics right here .     For this assignment, we had predetermined topics, so I chose cyberbullying due to the fact th...

"Early Access Release!" by  Kit09 Studio  Well, well, well... If it isn't the end of an era. A semester, actually. However, the end of this semester may also mark the end of my blogposting days. Our days are numbered, so to speak. And oh boy, what a semester it was. I gotta admit, I'm not the blogger or journal-keeper type. Why should I dump all my trauma and stress on a "paper", only to read them at a later time and re-live all of whatever this is.  This time, however, we have some specifications to meet in this blog post, so I can't afford to rant all day long. We have some course-mandated questions to answer, so let's get to them right away. 1. What are the strenghts and weaknesses of the course? The strenght of this course is that it is contemporary and it discusses matters that's already become more relevant than any other course. I'm talking about the AI and VR/AR matters, of course. This course handles the matters of impending times. ...
